About Online Therapy Ontario

Online Therapy Ontario is a growing psychotherapy practice based in Ontario, Canada, offering virtual mental health support for individuals, couples, and families.

Founded by a solo practitioner, Darren Elliott, expanding into a group practice, OTO focuses on three key areas: therapy for narcissism and for narcissistic abuse and other relational trauma, inclusive support for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, and accessible online services across the province dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.

Our therapists work through a relational psychodynamic lens when it comes to exploring attachment, personality, generational trauma and more, valuing connection, consent, and client collaboration. We are committed to creating a space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, build self-awareness, and move toward growth—on their own terms.

  • Strengthening your relationship starts with the right support. At Online Therapy Ontario, we offer couples therapy grounded in Gestalt principles and inclusive of diverse cultural backgrounds and relationship dynamics.

    We provide a safe, non-judgmental space where both partners can feel heard. Our approach blends empathy with structure—drawing from expert-informed methods by Terry Real, Ellyn Bader, and others—to improve communication, build trust, and explore new perspectives.

    Whether you're navigating conflict, emotional disconnection, or life transitions, we work with you to understand patterns, reconnect, and move forward together. Sessions typically range from 4 to 16 meetings, depending on your shared goals. For deeper-rooted concerns, we’ll guide you or refer you to specialized resources when needed.

    We are shaped by our families.

    Whatever you grew up with will be normal for you. Generational trauma often introduces behaviour patterns that are passed along, invisible within the family.

    Usually the most sensitive family member comes for therapy first, but they are most often adapting to the whole family system which needs repair.

    That’s why we include Relationship Sessions, working with individuals, couples, siblings, parent-offspring, familes - with a focus on relationships and disconnection issues.

    Disordered behaviour such as narcissistic behaviour is relational, and the relationships need transformation, the narcissistic individual needs their village to foster change, this does not heal in isolation. Individualistic therapy can support feeling well while not supporting our natural wellness that is nurtured by having loving, kind relationships in our lives.

    We are supposed to need each other and share our burdens together.
