DARREN ELLIOTT

RELATIONAL THERAPIST

Darren Elliott, RP,BED,CRPO,OCT

Founding Therapist | Online Therapy Ontario

Darren Elliott is the founding therapist at Online Therapy Ontario. He specializes in relational therapy, narcissism and narcissistic abuse recovery, ADHD, and generational trauma, with a particular focus on how emotional patterns are formed — and healed — in close relationships.

Darren brings both professional training and lived experience to his work. Having personally experienced narcissistic abuse and living with ADHD, he offers therapy that is grounded, compassionate, and deeply relational. He shares aspects of his own journey thoughtfully and intentionally, not to center himself, but to build trust and help clients feel less alone in theirs.

At the heart of Darren’s work is a simple belief:

People heal in relationships — not in isolation.

A Relational Approach Rooted in Love Loops™

Darren works from a relational orientation known as Love Loops™, a framework that focuses on how fear and disconnection take hold in relationships — and how love, safety, and repair can be practiced instead.

In Love Loops™, love and kindness are not abstract ideas. They are goal behaviors — practiced skills that help individuals, couples, and families move out of fear-based reactions and back toward connection.

This means Darren’s work often explores:

  • How defensive patterns show up under stress

  • How fear disrupts empathy and connection

  • How accountability and repair are learned with others, not alone

  • How small, repeatable relational changes create lasting growth

For some clients, this includes relationship sessions alongside individual therapy, when clinically appropriate and ethically supported. Darren is transparent about this approach and offers clear informed consent, boundaries, and safeguards.

Clinical Foundations

Darren’s work is rooted in Gestalt therapy, with additional influence from the teachings of Terry Real, Ellyn Bader, Tara Brach, Peter Levine, Arielle Schwartz, and other relational and trauma-informed clinicians. This integrated approach allows him to offer practical tools for emotional regulation, relational repair, and personal growth — without pathologizing clients or reducing them to diagnoses.

He holds degrees in Business and Education, and integrates psychoeducation and solution-focused strategies into his sessions. As a member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) and an educator, Darren also works with teachers, particularly around burnout, boundary fatigue, and creating more sustainable classroom environments.

Working Together

Darren offers individual and couples therapy online, with in-person options available by request. His therapy space reflects his values — filled with meaningful objects from his travels that honour culture, creativity, and healing.

Through Online Therapy Ontario, Darren supports clients in building healthier relationships, reclaiming their sense of self, and learning how to move out of fear-based cycles and back into connection.

His first book of the Love Loops™ Series, is scheduled for re-release in Winter 2026. Find some of his writing at LoveLoopsMovement.substack.com

Darren grew up in a narcissistic family system, which shaped his understanding of invisible trauma and emotional neglect. These early experiences, along with his global travels across over 20 countries and residency in several, give him a unique lens to support clients from varied cultural and family backgrounds.
